Sekhmet Necklace - Brecciated Jasper and Hematite Sterling Silver Granulation Necklace with 9ct Gold Details

This necklace features Fine Silver bezel set Hematite and Brecciated Jasper with granulation details. Chain cannot be removed from pendant.

In Egyptian mythology, Sekhmet is a warrior goddess as well as goddess of healing. She is depicted as a lioness. She was seen as the protector of the pharaohs and led them in warfare. Upon death, Sekhmet continued to protect them, bearing them to the afterlife.

In a myth, Ra sends Sekhmet to destroy mortals who conspire against him. Sekhmet's blood-lust was not quelled at the end of battle and led to her almost wiping out all of humanity. To stop her, Ra poured her beer dyed with hematite so that it resembled blood. Mistaking the beer for blood, she became so drunk that she gave up the slaughter and returned peacefully to Ra.

All silver and gold used is 100% recycled.

This necklace features lots of granulation that I recycle in house, with 9ct gold granules being scattered amongst silver ones.
